Leah Blakeley

M.A. CCC-SLP

Leah is the founder and owner of Astoria | LIC Speech and Language. After spending ten years seeing patients in their homes, she opened a clinic in the heart of Astoria to improve access to therapy for the Western Queens community. Leah has a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from Indiana University and a Masters of Art in Speech Pathology from New York University. She is currently getting an advanced degree in Pediatric Dysphagia from NY Medical College in order to broaden her expertise and bring a feeding program to the clinic.

Leah specializes in literacy and language acquisition. She is Level 1 Certified in Wilson Reading System as a Dyslexia Practitioner and has taught the graduate course Language Disorders in School Aged Children at NYU. Leah is PROMPT Trained and an ACE award winner, which is a designation for ASHA members who've demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning. Leah has fifteen years of experience working with pediatric clients with a wide range of disorders and is passionate about providing quality and evidence-based professional development to the clinicians at Astoria | LIC Speech and Language.
