Camille Herring

Camille is a New York licensed and American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified Speech Language Pathologist that works and resides in New York City. Camille received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The George Washington University. Before obtaining her Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Camille previously worked as an elementary school teacher. Camille also holds a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate. 

Camille has experience treating the following areas: expressive and receptive language disorders/delays, pragmatic-based differences, literacy, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC),feeding difficulties/disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and fluency disorders. Through her experience she has worked with many diagnoses such as Autism, Down Syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and emotional/behavioral challenges. Camille has one year of school-based experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans  (IEP) for students pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. Camille also has two years of experience providing speech therapy in homes for children ages birth to three through North Carolina and New York’s Early Intervention Programs. Camille has completed the Natural Language Acquisition training program from the Meaningful Speech coursework to support gestalt language processors.

Camille is passionate about working with diverse populations and knows that for certain populations therapy can be overwhelming! She strives to approach her work through a culturally-responsive lens and incorporate neurodiversity affirming strategies as well as trauma-informed care.
